Duties include supervising professional accountants; reviewing general ledger account reconciliations; planning and directing the preparation of the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and related statements; preparing monthly financial reports; investigating and resolving complex accounting issues; monitoring the implementation of internal and external audit recommendations; developing financial policies and procedures in accordance with GAAP; interpreting / implementing Governmental Accounting Standard Board Statements; and assisting in annual budget preparation and administration. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting, finance or a related field and five years relevant experience, including two years supervisory experience required. Governmental accounting experience preferred and Tyler Munis experience a plus. Must currently be a CPA or be able to obtain Texas licensure within a specified timeframe. Hours may include some evenings and weekends. A résumé must be submitted with application.
